Day in the Life

No day at camp is “typical” however there is a structure and flow to each day. Our program directors keep us on schedule and facilitate all the fun, while our medical staff led by Dr. Fox & Maggie Jarrell keeps everyone’s blood sugar in check.  Snacks and meals, prepared by the Alton Jones staff, are overseen by our Camp dietitian Anna Bertorelli and her team.

The schedule below gives an overview of what a camper’s day may look like.

7:00am     Wake up

7:45am     Testing/breakfast

8:45am     Cabin clean-up

9:15am     Activity (e.g., capture the flag, clown shoe soccer)

10:15am     Testing/snack

10:45am     Activity (e.g., cabin flags, team building)

12noon     Testing/lunch

12:45pm     Activity (e.g., swim, hike)

3:00pm     Testing/snack

3:30pm     Activity (e.g., craft, diabetes education)

5:15pm    Testing/dinner

6:30pm     Activity (e.g, games, crafts, speaker)

8:00pm     Testing/snack

8:30pm     Campfire

10:00pm     Bedtime
